Ghost writer rates vary from cheap to huge. Presenting our ghost writing fees.
Ghost writing company vs. freelance ghostwriters
Accountability and responsibility is the difference. Our parent company has been in business since 2002. In that time, there have been literally zero accusations of scamming and zero complaints, to be found in an internet search for Ghostwriters Central, Inc. Why? First, we don’t put anyone under contract who draws complaints. Second, the man in charge assures that the client gets what he or she is paying for. Alternatively, a freelance ghost writer has no supervision; there is no oversight. And if there is a dispute, who will step in to resolve it? High review ratings can be faked. Who assures that the freelancer has outstanding writing skills? Anybody can make that claim, and often do.
We strongly recommend to not hire writers from outside the United States. Doing so is a gold-plated invitation to disaster. All of our writers are located in the USA and have mastered American English.
Writing or rewriting
We charge $60 per double-spaced manuscript page. (There are about 250 words on a double-spaced page). A contract (scroll down) will probably be required. In most cases, we can work out a payment plan. You can also explore our homepage to learn more about our services.
Consulting and collaborating
We charge $40 per hour. Time with the writer may be purchased in a block. Example: 10 hours, $400. Payable in advance. Our team, introduced on the ghost writer staff page, is available for personalized support.
Editing
We charge $30 per double-spaced manuscript page. Learn more about the type of manuscripts we work on including fiction, or memoirs and autobiographies that often require both writing and editing support. We also handle various forms of non-fiction writing.
Exceptions
Our writers do have the freedom to set their own rates. They could charge by the word, or even charge a flat fee for their services, but they usually adhere to these published rates. The writer and client will discuss pricing in the initial free consultation.
Contracts, surprises and transparency
We do not surprise clients with additional fees. Occasionally, for example, a client will want to add pages, or maybe the manuscript came in under the target length specified in the contract. Any change to the contract must be approved by both the client and the company. Additional pages will be charged at the fees specified in the ghost writing contract, and if a manuscript involves less work than anticipated, a refund will be offered. With book projects, the client will be approving the work in stages to eliminate the need for extensive rewriting at the end. Limited revisions are permitted.
